Hannah Montana: The Movie / 2009 / DVDRip / 445 MB

When a TV series is being transported to the big screen, there's some expectations and worries lying ahead. "Hannah Montana", despite the hatred for the show, was no exception. But I'll guess this time worries was bigger than the expectations for those who really hated the underrated show.

By objective standards this is one of the better movie adaptation for a teen sitcom, even surpassing "The Lizzie McGuire Movie". It's has a predictable, but solid screenplay, a good message to both kids and adults and it's safe entertainment. The reason that I'm not supporting this movie entirely, is because it's a proof how far Disney's has gone in terms of milking the cow for what it's worth.

If there's a time I would personally ask Disney to stop making products without really quality, now it would be the time. In fact, I can see no reason for a Hannah Montana movie - otherwise than to milk the product for what it's worth, especially considering that now Disney agreed to do a fourth season of "Hannah". The movie could have been a smart way to end the show, like Disney did with "Lizzie". But all Disney has really done is messed up the Hannah plot more and shown that they think about moneymaking instead of products, no matter what. Once again, Disney destroys their own products (just like they did with the direct-to-DVD sequels).

Otherwise, this film certainly lives up to it's G rating, cause the movie is pretty harmless. There are some good and fun moments, a good score by John Debney, well-written dialog, while the acting is no otherwise but decent. There are some good songs, like the catchy "Hoedown Throwdown", "Let's Get Crazy" and Taylor Swift's "Crazier".

Otherwise the film doesn't provide the biggest laughs. There are some slapstick humor. The decision to make this movie more mature is admirable. But still I rather prefer seeing Miley joking around with her friends and family in her California surroundings. The movie has it good, emotional moments, but still the comedy and the drama doesn't flow well together. It just doesn't feel quite right to see Miley and co in a drama.
